A Legacy Worth Celebrating
Harold ‘Ice Man’ Wright
This event also honors Harold “Ice Man” Wright, who played at Washington State University (1987–1989) under Coach Kelvin Sampson. After playing professionally (NBA, CBA, and overseas), Coach Ice has dedicated his life to helping thousands of athletes at the high school and collegiate levels reach their goals — on and off the court. Over 25 years, he has won seven state championships as an assistant coach at Rainier Beach High School, helped Bellevue Community College make deep runs in the NWAACC tournaments, and coached the Bellevue Blackhawks of the ABA in 2008. Coach Ice has had a tremendous impact on his community through the game of basketball, and this event honors that legacy — especially in a community that helped shape his journey.
